FAQ
Answers about grants, eligibility, partners, and how OpenCompute works.
What is OpenCompute?+
OpenCompute is a platform that distributes donated AI compute credits to SMEs, workers in transition, nonprofits, and students. We connect partner-funded capacity with people who will turn tokens into real economic and social impact.
How does this relate to large language models?+
LLMs convert compute into language, code, analysis, and creative output. OpenCompute ensures more builders can access that creative power without being blocked by API costs or GPU bills.
How much compute will I receive?+
Allocations vary by use case and organizational need. Individual grantees may receive hundreds to a few thousand dollars in monthly credits; nonprofits and SMEs with larger programs may receive more.
How long are credits valid?+
Credits are typically valid for 12 months from allocation. We encourage grantees to integrate AI tools into ongoing workflows so capacity translates into sustained impact.
Can I apply from any country?+
Yes. OpenCompute is global. We review applications based on need, use case quality, and capacity to use resources effectively, not geography alone.
What if my application is declined?+
We provide feedback when possible and welcome reapplications after you address eligibility or use-case gaps. Our team is available via the contact page.
How can my company donate compute?+
Corporate and AI lab partners can pledge API credits or infrastructure access through our partner program. Visit the partner page to start the conversation.
